Would I benefit more from solar panels or a wind turbine?
I live in southwest Texas where there aren’t many hills and there’s a lot of dry hot sunny days. I’ve been having trouble finding average wind speeds for my area but the few resources I have found state it’s around 5 to 7 mph. Considering the climate for my area and the cost to buy and maintain, would I get more out of solar panels or a wind turbine? I have about an average consumption of electricity for a 4-person family. Thanks.

What does it cost to run a wind turbine?
Include operation, maintenance, etc.
This is for the average land-based wind turbine in the US.
