i want sensor for sensing the wind direction and wind velocity and converts in to an electric signal?
i am karthick final year B.E student. i have to do project in wind turbine generator. my project is mainly concerned to “the wind turbine generator senses the greater wind direction and turn that side then the vanes are rotated(i.e YAW SYSTEM). now i have so many doubts sir. that is which sensor is used to sense the wind direction and turn and converts in to to electric signal. Because we have planned to control our project in PLC& SCADA.

Is it possible to construct a $100 wind turbine and from it obtain the equivalant of one gallon gasoline?
I was discussing with an adversary of mine the possibility of this. I think it is possible over a period of time for a small wind generator to produce the same amount of energy that a gallon of gas will produce.
I saw a homemade wind turbine done with 50 gallon drums on Youtube. It was very practical and easy to build. My question is. What is the length of time that it would take to generate the same amount of energy from a gallon of gasoline?
