Your Questions About Wind Turbine Manufacturers

Carol asks…

How much of a commission (percentage) does an agent for an industrial scale, sized wind turbine make?

A single large industrial wind turbine can vary in cost. Some can be over 1 million dollars to 2 or 3 million or so? How are agents for this type of equipment paid? What is the range of commissions, percentages? And what is it based on? What is your experience, background thank you?
One person has already answered this question with some information. But one could then ask what iof there is or can be an agent? What if a prospective buyer from another country, who does not speak english asks someone who he trusts who does speak english to make contact with a US firm and requests information for a project and costs in trust and confidence? What might the commission that could be paid in that kind of a situation be? Many thanks.

What agent?

These kind of deals are done directly between the manufacturer and the purchaser. ANy “agent” is probably an employee of the manufacturer, and makes a salary with the probability of a year-end bonus based on company profits.

Steven asks…

Do wind turbines shut down if the wind speed exceeds a certain level?

I was told a while ago that if the wind gets over 30mph, a wind turbine will shut down to avoid damage. I’ve since been told that it is over 50, and 60mph.

When do they shut off?

admin answers:

The shut off speed depends on the design of the turbine. They vary.

If you can get the model number, the manufacturer may give you more information.
