Lisa asks…

Are there people who make their year around permanent residence on a boat, &what are the best boats for this?

By “best boats” I really mean the most economical. Comfort is important too, but I’m not talking luxury here. My wife does like a 20 degree Celsius room temperature.
It would be interesting to know more about those who chose to live on the directly on water anywhere in the world, but specifically North America. What kind of boat is used for this purpose most successfully? If you know of anyone living directly on the water, I would like to discuss the pros/cons of life on the water etc.
I will be selling my home on the Canadian East Coast, and moving to the West coast. I love the water, but my current boat is too small for 2 people to eat/sleep/bathe etc. and its too cold here. Many harbours freeze over completely. I understand that doesn’t happen on the Canadian West coast.
What are the minimum boat and equipment requirements for 2 to live off the west coast of Canada and US?
Could a person realistically roam the coves and islands of the Pacific Northwest with minimum dockage?

I have done the research and am looking to buy a Skystream 3.7, is anyone using one? How is it doing?

How long have you been using the wind turbine? Dose it live up to it’s billing. What size tower did you use? Is it a mono tower?
